The 18th Biruwa Bazaar Fair 2082, organized by Balakanya Youth Club of Biruwa Rural Municipality–1, was officially inaugurated by Biruwa Rural Municipality Chairperson Surya Kunwar, who attended the program as the chief guest. The program was chaired by Dhruba K.C., President of Balakanya Youth Club. Special guests at the event included Rajkumar Gurung, Central Member of the Nepal Volleyball Association and Patron of the club; Rudra Bahadur Rana (Kaji), Proprietor of Biruwa Cable Network and Fiber Link Pvt. Ltd. and sponsor of the Veterans category prize; Devendra K.C., Senior Vice President of Tiger Group of Pokhara; Birbal Khadka, former President of the club; Khum Bahadur, sponsor of the Ward-Level Men’s Volleyball prize; and Himal K.C., President of Nepali Congress of Biruwa Rural Municipality. Other guests included Rajendra K.C., Ward Chairperson of Biruwa–1, former Ward Chairperson Yubaraj K.C., and former Ward Chairperson of Biruwa–8 Prakash Thapa. Addressing the event, former Ward Chairperson Yubaraj K.C. said the fair, which is traditionally organized during Fagu Purnima (Holi), was held ten days later this year due to the country’s changing political situation and challenging circumstances. He also highlighted the long-standing tradition of Bala Devi worship, believed to help cure illnesses in children. He encouraged the younger Gen-Z generation to actively participate in community activities and emphasized the importance of sports and agriculture. In the opening volleyball match, Okhaldhunga Volleyball defeated Katahare Volleyball by 2–1 sets. The second match between Organizer B and Mochawari was suspended after one set due to time constraints.
Referees for the matches were Lil Bahadur Gurung, a National Volleyball Referee, and Nabin Thapa, a District Volleyball Referee.
